Captain Mac OD33 Confronts Betrayal in New Single “Face It”

Marietta-based artist Captain Mac OD33 delivers a potent message of resilience and empowerment in her latest release, “Face It.” Dropped on July 25, 2024, and produced by Deaja Morton, the song was inspired by personal experiences of betrayal. While on vacation, after a night of drinks, the track came to her effortlessly, fully capturing her emotions in just three hours. Set against the backdrop of a beach, Captain Mac’s raw vulnerability turned into fierce determination, encapsulating the pain of being taken for granted by those she once called family.

What makes “Face It” especially significant for Captain Mac is its deep connection to her personal life, tied with a memorable moment involving her mother. As Captain Mac was finishing the lyrics, her mom walked into the room, bobbing her head in approval, solidifying the artist’s feeling that she had crafted a hit. The song is more than just music to her—it’s a story of self-empowerment, showing how she and her loved ones have had her back throughout the trials. The lyrics weave together protection, loyalty, and ambition, with one of her favorite lines, “eyes on the prize with the paper, sweet shit I want it now and later,” reflecting her determination to succeed in the music industry.

Captain Mac OD33 is not slowing down anytime soon. She’s set to take the stage at Queenshit ATL on October 13th and Crowd Control Music Fest on October 21st, with a high-stakes performance at the Coast2Coast World competition in Miami in November, where she’ll compete for a $50K prize. Already a standout, she’s a first-place winner at Coast2Coast ATL and a week 5 champion on “Who Wants a Record Deal.” As a summa cum laude graduate in criminal justice, Captain Mac’s unique background also bridges the worlds of music and law enforcement, positioning her as a rising star with both brains and artistry.
